PREMIUM HARDWARE
All images are acquired using our specialized solar telescope at Siding Spring Observatory, Australia.

Using the DayStar Quantum PE and FCD100 ED glass, the 127mm carbon fibre refracting telescope provides only the sharpest views of the Sun.

The DayStar Quantum PE is a Hydrogen-Alpha filter with just a 0.4 Angstrom (0.04 nm) bandpass.

Using lucky imaging, the telescope takes many frames and selects only the best to be included in the final image.

SIDING SPRING
A telescope is only as good as the sky it is under.

That's why our telescope is located at Siding Spring Observatory in New South Wales, Australia.

Siding Spring Observatory is 1,165 meters above sea level and is home to over 60 different telescopes.

The calmness of the Earth's atmosphere at the observatory allows our telescope to take high resolution images of the Sun consistently.

This results in high quality images in a very short amount of time.
CHROMOSPHERE IMAGING
The Sun's chromosphere is the layer of atmosphere just above the surface.

By using a strong Hydrogen-Alpha filter, our telescope can see features of the sun only present in the chromosphere such as:

  • Solar Prominences
  • Sunspots
  • Filaments
  • Spicules
  • Plages
